Win One of My Blocks!

UPDATE!

Using the random number generator at Random.org and numbering the respondents chronologically by post date (1–17), I got a result of 12! That means … the winner is … nb!

Congratulations, nb!

I’m delighted with all of the responses! To show my appreciation for all who participated, I would like to offer you free shipping on my blocks. If you have left a comment here, please email me from the Info page and I will respond with a coupon!

Now that I have my spiffy new site, I want to really make use of it and be a bit more interactive with the online community. I would like to give away one of my blocks! And not just any block, but a matted and framed block! I personally loved how they looked framed and wanted to share that with you. I have three different frames to choose from (examples of the frames above): cherry wood, black, and silver.

To enter the contest, all you have to do is leave a comment here telling me which block on my Etsy is your favorite. (I’d love to hear why as well, but that’s not necessary). I will give away one matted and framed $30 block, domestic shipping included. The winner will be picked using a random number generator at 12 PM MST on Friday, May 27th.

You can see all of my blocks on my Etsy: http://solexposure.etsy.com.

I’m always interested in which ones people pick and why, so I’m looking forward to hearing from you!

***JUST TO BE CLEAR: You do not have to pick from the framed ones pictured above, they are just to show you what my blocks look like framed. Please tell me your favorite block from all of my ones available on Etsy.***

  1. i like them all, Sol–but i prefer the silver-matted one best of the three: great balance of subtle colors, sense of depth, frame is there but not over-powering. excellent! B

    1. Thanks, Bill! I have to agree, I really like the silver with the silver frame of The Impossible Project PX 600.

  2. My favorite is the first on the group of three above (or the third in begining by the end of the big choice above = the same with the maybe wiskey-cola).

Dont know why but it remind me of Hemingway, one of my favorite author.

(in fact i know why: smart glass full of "cuba libre" can only be a hint of hemingway, by the way i love how the wooden framing give power to the brown liquid)

and bcz the equilibrium with the mix of small text

sorry for the laborious explanation, i'm bad in writing my thinking in english 🙁

    1. I completely understand 🙂 I have been meaning to read some Hemingway for quite some time now!

  3. Not sure how I came across your site, but the work in your Etsy is amazing! I think my favorite block is a three-way tie between Block 69, Block 146, and Block 149.

Can't wait to share your work with my tribe!

    1. That's exactly how I was feeling when I was putting this block together. I wanted to convey "let's pack up and go somewhere".

  4. Favorite block: #100. Sweet use of illustrative line.

Runner-up: #172. Easy graphic impact with a pop of blaze orange.

    Cool stuff; thank you!

    1. Thanks, Domenic! I had a lot of fun drawing on Block 100. Block 172 is VERY close to being kept. If I wasn't already keeping four that is. I feel someone else should give it a good home 🙂

  5. Currently my top 3 favs. are these:

Block #175 – How amazing is that Cafe sign!?

Block #115 – I love the simplicity of this one, and those are some pretty clouds.

    Block #107 – GENIUS.

  6. I'd want to give Block 153 to my mother. She's got a thing for palm trees, but also I think its a nice piece.

  7. Block 173. I know it was taken in CA, but it reminds me of home in the Flint Hills. Love what you're up to. Keep it going.

    1. Thanks, Kristina! Every time I look at this one I think, "maybe I should keep this one." There is something about the light blues and the yellows that I really dig.

  8. I really like block 102. It leads me into the window as to show me maybe a lost and forgotten treasure, but only to me.

  9. I like 153. I know you took the pic in Phoenix, but it reminds me of So Cal for some reason. Maybe it's just the colors.

    1. Well, palm trees aren't *really* supposed to be here, so I get a California sense too. Thanks, Christopher!
